Willow Weaving: Make a Tray!
Saturday, October 19th, 9 AM - 12 PM
with Jessica Clark
During this workshop, participants will be introduced to the wonders of willow weaving! We will make a beautiful little tray, all out of my homegrown willow, that can be used to hold your keys, eggs, cherry tomatoes, whatever! Basic weaving techniques will be covered as well as a brief introduction to the willow plant and its many uses.
Jesica Clark is the owner and operator of Willow Vale Farm, where she grows vegetables as well as grows and weaves with willow, a naturally beautiful and sustainable material. The colors come from willow's own ability to produce pleasing hues and the forms are a result of her conversation with each piece she weaves. Her willow and produce are grown without pesticides and with loving care. $25 (free to Mohonk Preserve Members) and $15 for supplies to be paid directly to Jesica.
This workshop is held at Phillies Bridge Farm Project, 45 Phillies Bridge Road, New Paltz. Please register by October 15th at PhilliesBridge.org
